Fox News’ Guest: The Border Wall Saves Children
A guest on Fox & Friends on Wednesday claimed that the border wall is saving children from sex trafficking. Former DHS special agent Tim Ballard claimed that the 375,000 family units released may not have been families at all, despite numbers showing only a tiny percentage of migrants falsely claiming to be related.
“We have a horrible policy in place. Says if you bring a child with you, you automatically get access into the United States and you get a notice to appear,” Ballard said.
“So the criminal organizations, who immigrants, illegal immigrants are hiring they go to these guys and they say look, I will give you $5,000. Help me in. Here’s a child. They’re kidnapping children in Central America.”
“To use them as pawns to get them in, they’re props, exactly, to get them in. 76,000 unaccompanied minors are in the care of the United States government. Those are the ones that the Border Patrol agents caught. Imagine the ones they didn’t catch that are in our country now, being hurt and trafficked. We are the number one consumers of child sex consumption in the world, right? So, a lot of these kids are now in our child sex markets. It’s horrific fraud.”
Ballard went on to say that the border wall – which has not in fact been built despite President Donald Trump’s promises – is helping to fight child trafficking.
“The wall basically pushes traffic in through the ports of entry, to law enforcement officers who are trained to look for trafficked children. That’s how you save children. The wall saves children.”
