Fox’s Brian Kilmeade: Trump Criticizing Obama over Iran ‘Doesn’t Make Any Sense’
Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade made a rare admission on Thursday and seemed to criticize President Donald Trump for his repeated mentions of former President Barack Obama. Trump has tried to blame the previous administration for the Iran crisis, to limited effect. In particular, Trump claimed that money released to Iran by the Obama administration was used to fund terrorism. Kilmeade wasn’t so sure.
“He already picked up the phone and talked to NATO,” Kilmeade said. “I just don’t love bringing up the previous administration. Just like I didn’t like when President Obama kept bringing up President Bush.”
“Yeah, but it’s true,” co-host Steve Doocy said.
“How do you know?” Kilmeade shot back. “What I’m trying to say is, with President Bush, you heard that statement all along for President Obama: Always a dumb war. As people are missing limbs and no longer can see or missing legs and hear it’s a dumb war they lost their limbs in.”
“But Brian $150 billion to buy those weapons,” Doocy said.
“That’s fine. Everyone knows that policy but you gotta bring people together as the President and just to continue to take shots at President Obama three and a half years later doesn’t make any sense,” Kilmeade said.
His co-hosts attempted to defend Trump’s attacks on Obama, but Kilmeade was dismissive of their argument and criticized using recent events as partisan talking points.
