President Trump: I Did Not Call Bob Costa of The Washington Post. I Called Him *Back*
A play in three acts:
President Trump called me this evening, in response to my request for comment on a profile story on a Trump World figure. After speaking on that topic, he took a few questions about his administration’s standoff with Congress. We’ll publish those remarks tonight.

I didn’t call Bob Costa of the Washington Post, he called me (Returned his call)! Just more Fake News.

Yes, I noted this last night, before the interview posted. https://t.co/brT1URp6F4 https://t.co/grFXjTzOdC

So: Robert Costa of The Washington Post called President Trump for comment on a story. The president called him back. Costa noted this. The president then claimed he had not called Costa but was returning his call because he thinks there is some functional difference, or because he was just spoiling for a fight with the “Fake News,” or because his brain is basically an empty can of beans floating in a campground vault toilet. It’s hard to say.
