April Ryan Unleashes on Mike Huckabee After He Claims She Incited Murder Against His Daughter
So this happened tonight.
After American Urban Radio White House correspondent and CNN political analyst April Ryan called for White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders to be fired over Sanders’ admission to Special Counsel Robert Mueller that she repeatedly lied to reporters about FBI Director James Comey right after his firing, Sanders’ father took to Twitter Friday night to call for action against Ryan.
Pointing to a writeup from conservative blog RedState of Ryan’s Thursday evening CNN segment in which she lashed out at the press secretary, Huckabee asked if CNN was going to deal with “this incitement to murder.”

While making her argument that Sanders should be fired for deliberately lying to the press, Ryan said that there’s “a lack of credibility there” and “you have to start and start lopping the heads off,” adding that “it’s fire me Thursday or fire me Good Friday — She needs to go.”
Even the writer of the RedState piece acknowledged that they understood that Ryan “was using a figure of speech,” but it didn’t stop Huckabee from not only calling for CNN to “deal with” Ryan but also demanding the White House Correspondents’ Association to revoke her credentials.

Well, that set Ryan off, and she returned fire with fire. In a series of tweets, she reminded the former Arkansas governor that he once had made a veiled threat against her, that she had the tape, and that Huckabee wasn’t getting into heaven.
You sir need to sit down. You gave me a veiled threat not long ago. You call yourself a man of God? Boy bye! As your people come for me! My people see you and will do the same for you! https://t.co/M72QQACjqV

Ryan also issued a warning to Huckabee that if anything happened to her or her family that she would hold both him and his daughter personally responsible.
As I thank God this day and for his sacrifice as you should be doing, I have a warning for you! If anything happens to me or mine or anyone connected to me, you and your daughter and this administration will be held accountable! So you better stop now! https://t.co/oUpSVVbLx2

As for the tape of Huckabee saying that she should be “gutted like a deer?” It appears she is referring to Huckabee’s appearance on Fox Business Network’s Varney and Co. during the extremely stupid controversy PieGate, which revolved around Ryan doubting that Sanders had baked a Thanksgiving pie.
Anyway, during the segment on the feud, Huckabee told host Stuart Varney to never mess with a Southern woman and her homemade pies, adding:
“It is as dangerous as when you hear a Southern woman begin her sentence with ‘bless your heart.’ It means you’re about to be gutted like a deer and just don’t know it.”
Much like Ryan’s remarks, it is pretty obvious this wasn’t a death threat or incitement to violence. But we guess that if Huckabee is going to accuse Ryan of literally wanting to cut his daughter’s head off, she’s going to return some bad-faith fire.
