Sacha Baron Cohen Tries To Get OJ Simpson To Confess To Murder: You’re A Lady Killer
On the season finale of his hit show Who Is America? comedian Sacha Baron Cohen surprised audiences by appearing with OJ Simpson. Cohen, in character, tried to get Simpson to confess to the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson.
Cohen was disguised as one of his new characters, an Italian playboy who has previously embarrassed minor celebrities with his fake photo shoots and insistence on inventing stories about the celebrities’ charitable activities. But last night’s show was the most audacious yet. Cohen sat down with Simpson and joked about the murder.
Cohen described OJ Simpson as ‘an American hero and women’s rights activist’. An actor playing Cohen’s girlfriend pretended not to recognize Simpson until Cohen made a stabbing motion. When she had left the room, Cohen told Simpson “Sometimes I want to kill her.”
Cohen told Simpson that he wanted to meet Johnny Cochran, the lawyer from Simpson’s murder trial. Simpson told him Cochran was dead.
“What, you didn’t kill him too, did you?” Cohen asked. Simpson laughed off the comment and told him to stop.
“Me and you, we got something in common,” Cohen told Simpson. “We both, how you say, ‘ladykillers’.”
Simpson laughed off the comment but responded “No, I didn’t kill nobody.”
Simpson was found not guilty of the murders of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and friend Ron Goldman in 1994.
