Watch Tucker Carlson Melt Down Against Guest Who Said ‘F*ck The NRA’: ‘Interview Over!’
Tucker Carlson has a habit of getting his guests to lose their composure and lash out as he bombards them with questions about semantics while making snarky little digs.
This time around, though, Tucker was the one who lost his shit.
During Tuesday night’s broadcast of Tucker Carlson Tonight, Carlson welcomed on Pat Davis, a Democratic candidate for New Mexico’s First Congressional District. Davis made waves in recent days by releasing a campaign ad in which he declares “Fuck the NRA!” He also claims in the ad that the NRA’s “policies have resulted in dead children, dead mothers, and dead fathers.”
Carlson began the interview by asking Davis if he agreed the ad was “moronic,” causing the former police officer to point out that it received a lot of attention and began a conversation around guns. Tucker then took the opportunity to take issue with Davis’s use of the f-bomb, wondering aloud if using the word was “degrading.”
“Being polite hasn’t made our schools any safer or protected officers like I used to be,” Davis retorted. “Clearly this got the NRA’s attention.”
This is when things began to break down. Carlson said the ad only got attention because of “how embarrassing” Davis is. He then began to ask Davis how many NRA members have committed mass shootings.
Eventually, an increasingly flustered Carlson jumped on Davis for another ad in which the candidate claimed an AR-15 can fire 150 rounds in 15 seconds, trying to get Davis into a debate about how this was not true. (Davis noted that use of bump stocks and high-capacity magazines could make this possible.)
At the end of the segment, Tucker incorporated what we can only assume was his bad boy voice, mockingly calling Davis a “tough guy” while demanding the candidate apologize. Davis, meanwhile, calmly tried to engage with Carlson.
“I thought politeness didn’t work tough guy!?!” Carlson yelled. “You know what works? Actually, facts work. Why don’t you get some?”
We then got this from the Fox News host:
“Oh Pat, do you like this new mode of communication we have? F the NRA Pat! Alright, tough guy. Learn something about guns and get back to me. Interview over! Yeah because you don’t know what you’re talking about!”
And with that, Davis’s feed was cut. Carlson, obviously satisfied that he had won another interview, ended by saying “let’s go back to politeness, I liked it better.”
