Keith Olbermann: It’s Time For Trump To Go Before He Starts A Nuclear War
“It’s time for Donald Trump to resign as president,” Keith Olbermann said in his latest YouTube video for GQ‘s ‘The Resistance.’ “It’s been an interesting couple of days but for any patriotic American capable of adding two and two and getting one and a half million, enough is enough.”
Olbermann made a calm but emotional appeal to Trump’s voters and supporters. He said he was not going to argue policy and crowds but instead tried to explain to any wavering Trump supporters that, in his view, the president is not sane. Olbermann has argued that Trump is mentally unstable for some time now.
“This man is not of sound mind,” Olbermann said. “Trump has proved that not only will be lie to America about anything big or small but that, just as importantly, he will lie to himself about anything big or small.”
Olbermann criticized Trump for ordering ‘men even weaker than himself’ to lie to the public, a clear reference to White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, who gave two uncomfortable press briefings during which he angrily lied and attacked the media.
“What Trump does not believe, cannot be true. And that way lies madness,” Olbermann said. “And lies every evil imaginable and including the end of this country, in a literal sense, perhaps even the end of civilization.”
Olbermann argued that Trump’s ability to convince himself of his own lies showed he was mentally unfit to be president and a danger to the country and its people. Olbermann appealed to those still supporting Trump to think again, because Trump could start a nuclear war.
“That is the kind of man who could convince himself that it would be just fine to start a nuclear war, because of course he would survive the retaliatory attack, and so would his family, and so would whatever people he thinks are his friends.”
I think that if everyone stopped giving Trump “coverage” for only one week, he would implode. He thrives on the attention he is receiving – good or bad. If he didn’t see his face on TV, or the newspapers or even any social media, his bruised ego would break him. Then this country could forge ahead normally and Trump would be remembered as a bump in the road.
