Seth Meyers: Katrina Pierson Is Like ‘A Zookeeper When The Monkeys Start Throwing Their Shit’

Seth Meyers went after Donald Trump for flip-flopping on immigration last night. In his regular ‘A Closer Look’ segment, Meyers criticized Trump spokesperson Katrina Pierson for saying that Trump was only using different words for the same policy.

“What does that even mean?” Meyers asked. “That’s like saying I’m not breaking up with you, I’m just living in a different house with another woman and we have three kids.” Meyers seemed to feel some empathy for Pierson, however. Late night hosts feeling sorry for Trump surrogates is becoming a trend.

“Is there any job worse than spokesperson for Donald Trump?” Meyers asked. “It’s like being a zookeeper when the monkeys start throwing their shit at people. ‘No, that means they like you!'” Meyers pointed out that Trump’s supporters won’t let him soften his stance on immigration.

“They chant ‘build that wall’ at all of the rallies. And one guy even showed up to a rally dressed as the wall,” Meyers said. “That guy doesn’t want to go home and make an amnesty costume. He wouldn’t even now where to start.”

As Meyers pointed out, Trump supporters like Ann Coulter are worried Trump is softening on his harsh immigration policies. Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has also warned Trump not to change his position. A move away from his earlier anti-immigrant rhetoric could see his core vote ebb away.
