Fox’s Pete Hegseth: Stop ‘Watching Garbage Television on Netflix’ and Sign Up for Our Streaming Service
Fox News’ Pete Hegseth was on Fox & Friends on Friday to promote his new show on Fox’s streaming service, Fox Nation. The network has pushed hard to promote their own service, which mainly consists of ideologically-driven programming similar to Fox News’ fare.
Hegseth took the time to attack one of the world’s most popular and successful streaming services, Netflix. He was ostensibly talking about his trip to Israel, which is the subject of a new show on the Fox service.
“Listen, if you’re like me and you’re sick of watching garbage television on Netflix, go to Fox Nation,” Hegseth said.
“It works the exact same way and you’re gonna learn something, especially in this holy season.”
The Fox & Friends hosts seemed bemused by Hegseth plugging the streaming service. Though many Fox personalities have mentioned it on the show, it hasn’t been pushed as much as might have been expected. Fox Nation offers niche programming not comparable to Netflix.
Two of the streaming service’s most prominent personalities are conservative duo Diamond and Silk. They were recently suspended from Twitter for spreading misinformation about the Coronavirus global pandemic. Fox hosts have had little to say about the matter.
Subscriptions and use of Netflix has increased over the course of the Covid-19 crisis as many people are staying at home.
