Liberals Tear Into Rick Santorum After He Defends Trump Admin For Losing 1,500 Migrant Children
Over the past couple of days, renewed attention has been placed on last month’s disclosure by the Department of Health and Human Services that they had lost track of nearly 1,500 migrant children who had been placed in the homes of sponsors. The story has caused quite a bit of outrage and disgust across the political spectrum and led to President Trump attempting to deflect blame as he somehow claimed his administration’s own policy was the fault of Democrats.
During Sunday morning’s State of the Union, CNN political commentator and resident Trump defender Rick Santorum caused the panel to blow up when he insisted the kids weren’t lost while stating this was all “hyperbole to try to create an issue.”
Immediately following his SOTU appearance, Santorum quickly became one of the top trending topics on Twitter, as liberals and progressives absolutely assailed the one-time Republican senator for brushing off the issue and coming to the defense of the Trump administration.
Below’s just a sampling of the tweets aimed at Santorum:
Watching pro-life Rick Santorum make excuses for how the US government lost 1500 immigrant kids is abominable. If these kids were fetuses…

On CNN, Rick Santorum said they're not lost, "we just don't know where they are."
He must be talking about his decency and dignity.#WhereAreTheChildren

Reminder, when Rick Santorum says kids should be punished for the actions of their parents, in this case, he’s talking about ASYLUM SEEKERS.
Parents looking for a better life for their kids in the US.
Now please, tell me more about how this man is quote-unquote pro-life. pic.twitter.com/wVPUVOKUFV

If one of missing 1500 kids were an embryo, Rick Santorum would become like Liam Neeson in Taken. But it's only actual live human kids who are brown, so, you know, no biggie
