A Bridge Too Far? Trump Gets Blasted From Left And Right Over Megyn Kelly “Blood” Comment
One of the main stories coming out of Thursday night’s highly-watched GOP primary debate was the interaction between moderator Megyn Kelly and buffoonish man-child Donald Trump. The Fox News anchor asked the Republican Presidential frontrunner about his history of making misogynistic statements and whether that was befitting the highest office in the land. Of course, The Donald responded by cracking a joke at another woman’s expense and then telling Kelly that perhaps he shouldn’t be nice to her in the future for asking such a mean question.
Immediately after the debate, the reality TV star went right in on Kelly with the personal insults and criticism. The thin-skinned real estate mogul complained about how unfair and mean the questions were on both Twitter and news interviews. He took numerous potshots at the Fox personality, labeling her “unprofessional” and retweeting a supporter who called her a “bimbo”. While this is standard operating procedure for Trump, and his legions of simple-minded followers lap it up, his actions Friday night may have finally been the moment he went too far.
During an appearance on CNN Tonight, Trump told host Don Lemon that Kelly was way off-base and vicious with her questions. Per The Donald, it was because “there was blood coming out of her eyes. There was blood coming out of her…wherever.”
Below is video of the exchange:
Yup. The Trumpster’s response to a woman questioning him on his long history of misogyny is to state that the woman was on her period at the time.
Well, reaction was swift and harsh, and from all over the political spectrum. While you could find the Trump fanboys taking to Twitter to defend their idol, reporters, commentators, pundits and politicians from the left and right immediately condemned Donald. Fellow Republican candidate Carly Fiorina had a simple response.
Mr. Trump: There. Is. No. Excuse.

Kelly’s colleague Brit Hume pointed out that Trump is someone who can dish it out but not take it.  :
Trunp whining about debate questions and his sexist “blood” comment re: Megyn Kelly shows he can dish it but not take it. Some tough guy.

Others also weighed in.
Trump says about @MegynKelly, “You could see there was blood coming out of her eyes…or blood was coming from somewhere else.” WOW.

And lo, the sorceress Megyn Kelly wept blood as she sharpened her knife and plunged it into the heart of the good, pure man, he who is luxur

Overnight, Erick Erickson, publisher of RedState and a Fox News contributor, disinvited Trump from the forum he is hosting on Saturday in Atlanta for conservative candidates. Erickson, who has a long history of offensive and outrageously misogynistic and racist statements to his own credit, apparently feels that Donald has finally taken a bridge too far with his Kelly attacks.
I have rescinded my invitation to Mr.Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far

Erickson spoke to the Washington Post in the wee hours of the morning Saturday to explain why he came to his decision. It appears that Trump’s team first tried to pretend he didn’t say what he had just said on the air, and later tried to claim he was just trying to move on to another question. After the back and forth, Erickson just decided it wasn’t going to be worth his and the audience’s time and effort to deal with Trump on Saturday.
As one would expect, Trump responded via Twitter to all the weak ass losers who are hung up on political correctness and are refusing to Make America Great Again! He also tried to spin his comments to something not cringe-inducingly awful by claiming he meant to say “nose,” not insinuate Kelly was menstruating.
So many “politically correct” fools in our country. We have to all get back to work and stop wasting time and energy on nonsense!
