Acting CBP Commissioner Is ‘Disgusted’ with Nancy Pelosi for Calling His Agents ‘Storm Troopers’
Acting Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Mark Morgan responded angrily to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’ comments about his agents on Wednesday. He told Fox News’ morning flagship morning show, Fox & Friends that her remarks were disgusting.
“This is about law and order,” Morgan said of recent events in Portland. “This is about wanting to walk down the street and not be concerned that your baby and your stroller is going to be shot. That you can attend a funeral and there’s not gonna be a war zone in the aftermath.”
“This is incredulous that we are not joining together to be united saying this must stop and as you said work together. This should not be about political ideology. But that’s what we are seeing. We’re seeing politics put before public safety. This has got to stop.”
Morgan went on to criticize Pelosi. The Speaker was responding to questionable actions by federal agents.
“I’m disgusted. I’m disgusted,” Morgan said. “Look, so far this year, CBP, just CBP alone we’ve lost 10 personnel, 10 in the line of duty. And for her to refer to those men and women as storm troopers, that is i— it’s absolutely disgusting”
“It goes right to the heart because I know the character and I know these men and women that are sacrificing so much. And when their political leaders are using disparaging terms like that, it’s just reckless and untrue. These are professional, civil law enforcement individuals that are out there doing their job protecting this great nation. They are not storm troopers.”
