CNN Hires Bob Costas as On-Air Contributor
Bob Costas will join CNN as an on-air contributor covering sports and related issues, the network announced on Monday. Costas is an experienced broadcaster whose won 28 Emmys over his long career. He’s covered the Olympics, the Super Bowl and the NBA Finals, to name a few.
“Bob Costas is a legendary, respected voice across the spectrum of sports and beyond,” said CNN President Jeff Zucker.
“As the world continues to change amid the coronavirus pandemic, we are confident that Bob’s insightful analysis will help our viewers better understand what the future holds as the sports and teams we love evolve to meet this moment,” Zucker went on.
Costas welcomed his new position and said he was looking forward to working for the network, which has been doing especially well in recent ratings.
“I’m very pleased to join CNN’s roster of journalists and commentators,” Costas said.
“CNN’s willingness to devote time and attention to sports related topics, makes it a good fit for me.”
