‘Morning Joe’: Trump Is ‘Going to Cheat’ in ‘All-Out Assault’ on 2020 Election
President Donald Trump will try to cheat to win the 2020 election through voter suppression and other means, professor of Princeton professor Eddie Glaude Jr. told MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Monday. Hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski agreed.
Glaude was asked about former President Barack Obama’s comments about Michael Flynn and the rule of law.
“It’s a preview, I think, of the upcoming election,” Glaude said. “I think President Obama will be a powerful voice in articulating the argument against the Trump administration but think we need to be prepared for something, as we’ve been talking about for most of this hour.”
“And that is, in light of Trump’s political situation, we need to expect him to go all out. I’ve been thinking about this in terms of the three Cs, as I call them. One, he’s gonna carpet bomb Biden. He’s gonna carpet bomb Biden in regards to China, Hunter Biden, a range of things. Then he’s gonna stoke the culture wars, he’s gonna try to divide us even more.”
“Last, he’s gonna cheat. When I say he’s gonna cheat, he’s gonna double down on voter suppression, he’s gonna try to keep people from getting to the polls. And so we need to be prepared for an all-out assault. I think President Obama’s comments recently should be a preview of what we need to do in response to what is coming down the pike.”
“Absolutely. He will go all out,” Brzezinski said. “Every time things get worse, he does other things to distract. This could be even more of a nightmare than it already is.”
“Well, for the president, politically, there is no distracting,” Scarborough said.
