Joe Scarborough Slams Tom Steyer’s ‘Vanity Project That Could Help Re-Elect Donald Trump’
MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough took aim at billionaire Tom Steyer for his continued campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination. The Morning Joe host criticized Steyer a mid a conversation about other candidates dropping out of the race.
“We’ll see what happens with Tom Steyer in South Carolina, but Tom Steyer, you wonder why he hasn’t been funding other people race’s and be anti-Trump movements from the beginning of his campaign,” Scarborough said.
“It’s a vanity project, Joe,” said David Wasserman, an election forecaster with Cook Political Report.
“Well it is a vanity project and been a vanity project for a very long time,” Scarborough agreed.
“And it’s a vanity project that could help re-elect Donald Trump.”
Steyer has made little impact in the polls but he continues to campaign and has participated in the debates. Senator Bernie Sanders has so far won the early contests but South Carolina could favor former Vice President Joe Biden, while Super Tuesday is still ahead.
