Trump Misspells ‘Border’ In Tweet, Deletes It Almost Immediately

President Donald Trump has deleted a tweet in which he misspelled ‘border’, just two minutes after sending it out. Trump was starting one of his usual early morning Twitter threads, but deleted his first tweet of the day, presumably after noticing the error.

“In our Country, so much money has been poured down the drain, for so many years, but the Democrats fight us like cats and dogs when it comes to spending on Boarder Security (including a Wall) and the Military. We won on the Military, it is being completely rebuilt. We will win…” the tweet said.

Though the President deleted the tweet, it is preserved at politwoops.eu, a website that tracks and collects tweets deleted by politicians. The site also shows that another tweet with the same misspelling as deleted 2 days ago, after about 3 hours on the site.

Trump sent a new tweet with the spelling corrected and some other changes: “In our Country, so much money has been poured down the drain, for so many years, but when it comes to Border Security and the Military, the Democrats fight to the death. We won on the Military, which is being completely rebuilt. One way or the other, we will win on the Wall!”

The second tweet contains a stronger image of Democrats fighting to the death, rather than like cats and dogs. Whether this change or the spelling error were the cause of the change is not known, but Trump has sometimes used ‘boarder’ to mean the southern border.

Trump does not always bother to delete tweets featuring spelling errors, though any tweets he has deleted are preserved and all his tweets are a matter of public record. He is not legally able to block American citizens from seeing his tweets.
