Fox’s Brian Kilmeade Rips Trump For ‘Insulting’ Tweet Trashing US For Poor Relationship With Russia
Usually, President Donald Trump can rely on the hosts of his favorite morning news show to have his back no matter what he says or does. This morning, however, the president’s tweet trashing the United States just hours ahead of his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin was a bridge too far for Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade.
Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged Witch Hunt!

“Our relationship with Russia has NEVER been worse thanks to many years of U.S. foolishness and stupidity and now, the Rigged With Hunt!” Trump tweets, apparently giving a pass to Russia over its election meddling and invasion of Crimea while placing all the blame on his own country.
“That’s by far the most ridiculous tweet of late,” Kilmeade declared while discussing the tweet. “That is insulting to past administrations – he can’t be saying that going into the Russian summit.”
During an interview with Trump sycophant and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, Kilmeade again railed against the president’s tweet.
“It’s really not our foolishness and stupidity,” he stated, having pointed out that he normally “likes” Trump’s tweets. “They might not like the things we’re doing — but would you really say foolishness and stupidity is a correct characterization?”
Gingrich shrugged off the President of the United States ripping his own country, saying he’s “not going to try to rewrite the president’s tweets” before adding that there has been a “lot of weakness” from previous administrations.
While Kilmeade has been a reliable and vocal supporter of Trump from the beginning of his candidacy — remember, Trump used to have a regular segment on Fox & Friends — he’s perhaps been the one regular F&F host who has been most willing to toss criticism the president’s way. He’s noted that it is Trump’s fault that the media is so focused on the Mueller investigation, fact-checked Trump for saying Mueller wasn’t looking at collusion, and said the president “made things worse” by calling protesting NFL players “sons of bitches.”
