Trump Wonders If George Floyd Is ‘Looking Down Right Now’ Because It’s ‘A Great Day’ for the Country
President Donald Trump made some strange comments at a press conference on Friday but one in particular stood out: Trump suggested George Floyd was looking down from Heaven approvingly because it was somehow a ‘great day’ for Americans.
“Hopefully, George is looking down right now in saying this is a great thing happening for our country. A great day for him, a great day for everybody,” Trump said.

Trump was speaking at a hastily arranged White House press conference in response to Friday’s jobs report, which showed an unexpected fall in unemployment. Overall, however, there is record unemployment in the U.S. nearing levels not seen since the Great Depression.
The President rambled about a variety of subjects and was frequently incoherent as he addressed reporters. Meanwhile, protests are set to continue as Americans demand justice for Floyd. Recent polling suggests most people see his deaths as a factor of racial injustice.
