Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade: I Agree With Trump That Nobody Should Speak Spanish In America
Earlier this week, former Florida Governor and one-time GOP Presidential frontrunner Jeb Bush answered a Hispanic media outlet reporter’s question in Spanish. It didn’t take long for renowned Mexican hater and magnificent border wall builder Donald Trump to jump on Jeb! for having the temerity to speak that dirty filthy language in ‘Murica. Speaking to Breitbart News on Wednesday, the current Republican poll leader said Bush should “really set the example by speaking English while in the United States.”
While Bush and his campaign team have fired back their own volleys at the Trumpster, the real estate mogul’s biggest cheerleaders had his back on Thursday morning. Speaking about the ongoing feud between Jeb and Donald, Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade said that he completely agrees with Trump. In his opinion, nobody should be speaking Spanish during media events or press conferences, mainly because other reporters have no idea what was said and might not be able to get a good quote for their paper or news station.
“I tell you, I agree with Donald Trump because I’ve been in the locker room before when there is Spanish speaking, especially the soccer locker room and now the baseball locker room, and when the Spanish reporters are talking to the player in Spanish, we sit around and go ‘what’s going on here? What country are we in?’ I think that unless it is a Spanish speaking group of press, I think Donald Trump is 100 percent right.”
The show’s guest host — sorry, don’t know who he is — claimed that Trump’s comments about Jeb will resonate with many Republican voters because they hate multiculturalism and diversity. Translation: Most GOPers really hate hearing speak motherfuckin’ Mexican, dammit! #MakeAmericaGreatAgain! Kilmeade would add to that, saying press members shouldn’t be expected to understand Spanish so everyone needs to ask and answer questions in English.
Co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck intervened at the end — likely to keep Kilmeade from calling Latinos ‘beaners’ or something equally offensive — by pointing out that Bush typically says the same thing in both Spanish and English when he goes bilingual and that his actions may help in the long run if he makes the general election.
