Trump Tells Orlando Rally Crowd That Democrats ‘Want to Destroy You’

President Trump officially “kicked off” his 2020 re-election campaign with a rally—actually, his 60th since his election—in Orlando, Florida on Tuesday night, hitting on many of the same themes—complaining about the Russian “witch hunt,” blasting the “fake news”— we’ve heard countless times at previous rallies.

The president, however, took a bit of a darker turn when it came to criticizing the Democratic Party. Rather than stick strictly with an optimistic message revolving around a good economy, Trump told the crowd of MAGA supporters that Democrats literally wanted to destroy them.

“They want to destroy you and they want to destroy our country as we know it,” Trump snarled. “Not acceptable. It’s not going to happen!”
