In his video before today’s inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump, Keith Olbermann called on the country to boycott the event. He used his latest installment of ‘The Resistance’ to demand Democrats not attend the event and encourage citizens not to watch.
“If you are an elected Democratic official, under no circumstances attend,” Olbermann said. “I don’t wan to hear about you working with him, unless you’re working with him to move to the Caymans. I want to hear about your plans to impeach him or force him to resign.”
Olbermann attacked Trump for his tweets about civil rights hero, Congressman John Lewis. Olbermann believes that Trump displayed naked racism by falsely claiming Lewis’ Georgia district is crime infested and poor. Olberman directly addressed Republican Senator Ben Sasse, who called on Lewis to attend.
“If you think, Senator, that we will let you or anybody else normalize the transfer of a power to a racist, seemingly psychotic Russian plant, perhaps you should look again at how heroes like John Lewis responded the last time the white supremacists of this country insisted this was about power and that we must all accept its use and its misuse peacefully.”
