Donald Trump wants to end the presidential election now and have himself declared the winner. As new reports show Trump has curtailed donations to his own campaign, Trump has turned up his rhetoric about election rigging and suggested the whole process is pointless.
“Just thinking to myself right now, we should just cancel the election and just give it to Trump, right? What are we even having it for? What are we having it for?” Trump told a rally Thursday evening. Trump was speaking in Ohio, a crucial swing state where he and Hillary Clinton are running neck and neck.
Trump told Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly that the election might be rigged in deep red Texas. Trump is struggling in Texas and the state could flip to the Democrats for the first time since 1964. Trump claimed he has received reporters of voting machines failing to recognize votes for him.
“I’m winning in certain polls and then in other polls, the dirty polls we call them, I was losing by numbers that were ridiculous,”Trump said. “I think we’re winning, but Bill, you look at some of these polls it’s absolutely ridiculous.”
State authorities in Texas have denied there is any election rigging. Texas is controlled by the Republican Party and has been for decades. The governor of Texas is a Trump supporter and Texas Senator Ted Cruz has endorsed Trump.
