Donald Trump Wants Trey Gowdy To Continue To Use Benghazi Committee To Go After Hillary

Over the past few weeks, Republicans have had to eat a lot of shit over the revelation that the House select committee they put together to ‘investigate’ the 2012 Benghazi terror attacks was all just a ruse to hurt former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s 2016 White House run. While everyone paying attention to Washington knew all along that this was the endgame for the GOP, nobody expected one of their leaders to actually admit as much publicly. Yet, late last month, House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy did that very thing while appearing on Fox’s Hannity, and it has caused all kinds of turmoil since.

One of the GOPers really caught up in the fray is the chairman of this little shame, Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC). Republicans picked him to lead this shitshow because they felt that he’d give it the appearance of a legit investigatory committee while simultaneously providing them with the mud they so gloriously needed for slinging at Clinton.  Unfortunately for him, the jig is up, and now he is stuck having to decide whether or not to act like this has all been legit with a highly anticipated appearance by Hillary in front of the committee on Thursday. (One that she appears to be relishing at this point.)

With all that said, 9/11 preventer and chubby orange crayon Donald Trump made yet another appearance on Fox News’ Hannity  — remember when he was feuding with the network — to discuss just how very great and terrific his campaign is going at the moment. After shitting on Jeb! and his bubba while letting everyone know how the World Trade Center would still be standing if he were President in 2001, Trump and Sean talked about the upcoming Benghazi hearing and how it will affect Hillary politically.

Trump lamented the fact that it appears that Gowdy is going to retreat from going hard after Clinton in the aftermath of all of these shitty headlines. See, per the Trumpster, even though Republicans would look even worse than they do now if they tried to make Thursday’s hearing be about taking down Hillary, they still have to do it. Why? Mostly because Trump would like to see it, I think.

From the transcript of the show:

DONALD TRUMP: Well I have to tell you, I was really looking forward to the hearings, but then you had a congressman, Republican go against Trey Gowdy and all of the people, as you know. And then you had a whistleblower come out. So that hurt. That was not exactly positive. And then yesterday I watched Trey, who I do respect, I think he’s a terrific guy. But he seemed to be doing a big pivot. He said, “well, this isn’t about Hillary Clinton.” You know, I’m pretty good at figuring this stuff out. And he seemed to be doing, Sean I’m sure you saw it, he seemed to be doing a big pivot away from Hillary Clinton. And I was trying to figure out what that was all about. So you may not be as happy as you think with these hearings. I just don’t know. The hearings, I was looking forward to them. But with all that’s happening, and I was surprised that he pivoted away so much from Hillary. He said, “these hearings about not about her, actually. We want to discuss other people much more so.” And it sounded like he was sort of pulling away from going after her. So I’m going to have to see what the hearings are all about.

Now, mind you, Hannity asked Trump about this by at least making it seem like he cared about what happened to Ambassador Chris Stevens and his belief that the State Department failed in providing proper security for him in Libya. He at least pretended that matter to him. But not Donald. Fuck no! He just wants to see republicans not be such losers and take it to Hillary. Go balls out, man! Fuck it! Who cares if making it a circus will prove to Americans even more that Republicans should really not be in charge of anything. I mean, it isn’t like Trump even wants to be President anyway.
