MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski Pretends Donald Trump Didn’t Kick Jorge Ramos Out Of Press Conference

During Wednesday's broadcast of 'Morning Joe,' Brzezinski defended Trump numerous times and stated as fact that Ramos was not removed from the room.

Over the past couple of months, MSNBC’s Morning Joe has essentially turned into an infomercial hyping GOP Presidential frontrunner and half-melted wax figurine Donald Trump’s run for the White House. The real estate mogul has made dozens of appearances on the program over that time and has been treated like royalty by the hosts, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. Even on the rare days The Donald hasn’t called into the show, Mika and Joe have made sure to loyally shill for his campaign.

This level of deference to a political candidate would be nauseating under normal circumstances. It seems even worse when that candidate is a vulgar braggart whose campaign is based on racist rhetoric and personal insults. Yet, here we are. In an effort to maintain the ratings boost the struggling morning program has received since Trump announced his run, the co-hosts have continued to kiss his ass at every opportunity, and Wednesday was no different.

During a press conference in Iowa on Tuesday, Trump had security throw Univision anchor Jorge Ramos out of the room after Ramos attempted to get Trump to answer a question regarding immigration. The reality TV star told Ramos to sit down numerous times before shouting “go back to Univision!” He eventually motioned to a security person to forcibly eject Ramos out of the presser. Regardless of your thoughts on whether Trump was correct to have Ramos tossed, it was caught by cameras and seemed pretty cut and cry that Trump had Ramos removed at that time. (Ramos would be allowed back in later to ask Trump questions.)

However, according to Mika, Trump did no such thing. In a conversation with MSNBC reporter Kasie Hunt, who was at the press conference, Brzezinski pointedly stated that Trump did not have Ramos removed and, in fact, Ramos left of his own accord and made it appear that the celebrity billionaire’s security did not place hands on Ramos or push him out. She stated that Trump was especially gracious to bring Ramos back into the room and let him ask questions. Meanwhile, Joe complained that Ramos was lecturing and reporters should only throw out quick, short, to-the-point questions. (Hunt did not join the panel in criticizing Ramos.)

Later on in the program, the panel discussed Trump’s appearance that morning on NBC’s Today, where he defended his actions and said Ramos was “ranting and raving” like a lunatic. While Joe and panelist Amy Holmes spent much of their time personally criticizing Ramos — at one point someone suggested that the highly-influential and much-watched Latino anchorman was looking for his “15 minutes of fame” — Mika once again made the spurious claim that Ramos was not actually kicked out of the room, pretending that what she saw on video didn’t actually happen.

I think we’ve all gotten used to partisanship and bias within news media. That is just part of the deal anymore. However, to watch professionals willingly suck up to a narcissistic blowhard in order to maintain their easy access to him so as to help their ratings is really just sickening and impossible to watch. The Morning Joe crew has to come to terms with the fact that they are purposely taking part in a propaganda operation run by an ego-driven asshole that is demonizing whole sections of our country in order fuel his personal popularity.

But, hey, ratings are up. Woo hoo!
