GOP Senator Hedges Support for Trump By Saying Election Wasn’t Rigged, But He ‘Thinks’ Voter Fraud Occurred

Sen. Roy Blunt (R-MO) said Sunday he believes “some element of voter fraud” occurred in the presidential election, but stopped short of claiming it was “rigged” against President Trump.

“I don’t think it was rigged, but I do think there were some things that were done that shouldn’t have been done,” Blunt told Dana Bash on CNN State of the Union. “And I think there was some element of voter fraud as there is in every election.”

Blunt added that this alleged fraud wasn’t pervasive enough to change the outcome, but complained that the process of checking signatures on absentee ballots was still somehow a “huge problem.”

Bash clarified that there has been no evidence that has held up in court of the type of fraud that Blunt claims happened.

Later in the interview, Blunt also refused to acknowledge Joe Biden as president-elect, claiming that that won’t technically be the case until the Electoral College casts its votes next month.
