Obama Compares Trump to ‘Two-Bit Dictator’ Hours Before Presidential Election

Former President Barack Obama offered one last scathing criticism of his successor on Monday as millions of Americans prepared to go to the polls on November 3. Speaking to a rally for former Vice President Joe Biden in Miami, Florida, Obama referenced a report from Axios claiming President Donald Trump planned to declare premature victory on election night.

Obama said Trump would “declare victory before all the votes are counted tomorrow.”

“That’s something a two-bit dictator does,” he said. “If you believe in democracy, you want every vote counted.”

The former president said that if a Democrat were acting the way Trump is “I couldn’t support him.”

Trump has denied the Axios report.

“With Joe and Kamala you’re not going to have to think about them every single day,” Obama said. “You’re not going to have to argue about some crazy tweet that the president sent out this morning.”

“It won’t be so exhausting. You’ll be able to about your lives know that the president’s doing his job instead of suggesting we inject bleach,” he said.

Obama has hit the campaign trail for Biden in the past few weeks, sharing harsh criticism of President Trump in a move that is somewhat unprecedented for a former president. He’s mocked Trump for reports that he has a Chinese bank account and criticized his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
