Trump Says He Has a ‘Protective Glow’ and Immunity from COVID-19

President Donald Trump has said he’s now immune from COVID-19, a claim that caused Twitter to flag his tweet for ‘spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19.’ The President said he is fully recovered from the virus.

“I beat this crazy, horrible China virus,” Trump told Fox News on Sunday.  He said he’d passed ‘the highest test’ and ‘the highest standards’, though it’s not entirely clear what this means.

“I have to tell you, I feel fantastically. I really feel good,” he said. “I even feel good by the fact that, you know, the word ‘immunity’ means something – having really a protective glow means something. I think it’s very important to have that, to have that is a very important thing.”

“The doctors, the White House doctors, as you know are the best, and they said – totally free of spreading. There’s no spread,” he said.

The President took to Twitter to say he was no immune. However, scientists are not certain not having the disease makes a person immune to other potential strains. There are also concerns that the antibodies arising from the strain the person was infected with might only last a few months.

“A total and complete sign off from White House Doctors yesterday. That means I can’t get it (immune), and can’t give it. Very nice to know!!!” Trump tweeted.

Twitter added a message to the tweet warning that may contain misleading information. The social media company has flagged several of the President’s tweets in this way.
