Peter Strzok: Trump’s Financial Interests Have Made Him ‘Compromised’ by Russia

Former FBI agent Peter Strzok appeared on Meet the Press on Sunday and said he believes that President Trump is “compromised” by Russians.

Strzok, who led the FBI’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and worked on Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Trump campaign, told Chuck Todd that the Russians “hold leverage over [Trump] that makes him incapable of placing the national interest … ahead of his own.”

Strzok explained that the president’s vast web of financial interests is a means through which he has become vulnerable to being leveraged by Russia.

“When you take a look at the Trump financial enterprise, particularly its relationship with Russian monies and potentially those related to organized crime and other elements,” Strzok said, “those interactions have placed him in a position where Russians have leverage over him and are able to influence his actions.”
