Trump Threatens Military Action: ‘Domestic Terrorists Have Take Over Seattle’

President Donald Trump has threatened to deploy the military to Seattle in response to protests there. Late on Wednesday, the President falsely claimed that terrorists had taken over the city in Washington state and demanded the governor do something about it.

Radical Left Governor Jay Inslee and the Mayor of Seattle are being taunted and played at a level that our great Country has never seen before,” Trump tweeted.

“Take back your city NOW. If you don’t do it, I will. This is not a game. These ugly Anarchists must be stooped IMMEDIATELY. MOVE FAST!”

Trump is clearly referring to his earlier threats to use the U.S. military to quell protests over the death of George Floyd. In a later tweet he added: “Domestic Terrorists have taken over Seattle, run by Radical Left Democrats, of course. LAW & ORDER!”

The President is referring to an ongoing protest in the city where demonstrators have set up a ‘Capital Hill Autonomous Zone’. This is is part of their efforts to defund the police and has been peaceful. There is no reason to believe these protesters are terrorists.

What’s happening in Seattle is not dissimilar to the Occupy Wall Street movement, which Trump also opposed, though he was not then in a position to threaten military action. Trump’s saber rattling early on during the protests caused former generals and admirals to denounce him.
