Fox’s Brian Kilmeade: Trump Should Talk to African American Leaders to Get ‘Their Side of the Story’ on Police Brutality

Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade wants President Donald Trump to meet African American leaders so he can hear both sides of the story on police brutality toward black people. The Fox & Friends host made the suggestion as the show continues its broadside against defunding the police.

Kilmeade began by praising the President for meeting with police representatives. Despite the ongoing protests, Trump has not yet met any African American leaders.

“I think it’s great he meets with law enforcement because they are under fire now,” Kilmeade said. “But I also would love to see the President meet with African-American leaders or people of color – leadership and talk about what their side of the story is.”

“Because both sides want to come to a better understanding,” he said. “Defunding is ridiculous. Ignoring what’s going on among the African American community and not hearing what they have to say is also farcical.”

“Let’s make progress, not talk at each other, let’s talk to each other,” he said.

President Trump has not met with protesters since the marches began, nor has he visited Minneapolis, where George Floyd was killed. By contrast, Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden has met Floyd’s family. However, Kilmeade had only criticism of Biden.
