Joe Scarborough on Trump: ‘Most Americans Don’t Live in the Gutters of Twitter’

MSNBC Joe Scarborough made some emotional comments on Wednesday after President Donald Trump continued to suggest he had committed murder while in Congress. The Morning Joe host stressed that most Americans are good people, even if the President isn’t.

“Let me, again and I reminded people, I had a lot of good friends call me yesterday, a lot of colleagues call me. And I kept reminding them, and I want to remind you this morning, that Americans are so good,” Scarborough said.

Trump and his Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany doubled down on the false accusations against Scarborough yesterday, which no doubt prompted the calls.

“Most Americans don’t live in the gutters of Twitter,” he said.

“Most Americans don’t live posting hateful things about people on Facebook. They talk about their loved ones. They talk about their faith in God. They talk about their children, their grandchildren. We have them outnumbered.”

“That old Paul McCartney quote that he probably doesn’t remember saying, but it stuck with me 30 years ago when they asked Paul why he was such an optimist. He goes, you know what? I think we’ve got them outnumbered. Everywhere I go I look around and see good people.”

He went on to say that what’s coming out of the White House is noise to distract from the ongoing pandemic.
