‘Fox & Friends’ Suggests Trump Is ‘Leading the Way’ from the Golf Course

President Donald Trump has faced criticism for golfing over the weekend as U.S. Coronavirus deaths approach 100,000, but on Fox News on Monday Trump’s golf game was held up as an example of leadership. The Fox & Friends co-host tied it to his agenda for reopening the country.

“This is a country that sent a man to the Moon with less technology than we have our I phones today figuring out how to open up sports is something we can do,” Pete Hegseth said.

“The question is just when,” Hegseth said.

Co-host Steve Doocy seemed to agree and then Ainsley Earhardt brought up the topic of the President playing golf.

“Joe Biden’s has already pulled that video of the President playing golf and did a campaign ad saying how dare he play golf when so many people have this virus,” Earhardt said. “And the President said, look,  I haven’t played golf since the beginning of March and we’re trying to open our country and I’m trying to send a message that we can do this safely.”

“I think that’s a part of how he’s done it all along,” Hegseth said. “He’s faced criticism for not wearing a mask. He’s said I’m the most tested, protected man in the country. I want to project a strong of an image as possible. People are going out fishing and golfing. All the things we should have been doing pretty much the entire time because you can do it responsibly.”

“Leading the way is important and certainly the President trying to do that, sometimes it’s on the golf course.”
