Trump Spends All Morning Retweeting Criticism of Nancy Pelosi for Ripping Up His Speech

President Donald Trump spent much of Wednesday morning retweeting attacks on Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. Rather than highlighting or re-enforcing what he said during his State of the Union speech, Trump retweeted dozens of attacks on Pelosi for ripping up a copy of his speech.

One critics of Pelosi’s was legal scholar Jonathan Turley, who went to bat for the Republicans in the House’s impeachment inquiry.

But the retweets came thick and fast, with the President sharing content from unverified accounts that sometimes made questionable claims.

He shared several tweets featuring the hashtag #PelosiTantrum, no doubt amplifying its’ significance on Twitter.

By contrast, President Trump said very little about his speech, which was the last State of the Union he will deliver before the election and perhaps the last he will ever give.

“It was a great and triumphant evening for our Country,” Trump tweeted. “Thank you for all of the nice remarks and wonderful reviews of my State of the Union Speech. It was my great honor to have done it!”

After that brief mention of his own speech, he almost immediately began to retweet attacks on Pelosi, first from prominent conservatives and then any Twitter users who were criticizing her.
