Dan Bongino on Iran: ‘The Imminent Threat Was Soleimani Having a Pulse’

The Trump administration has repeatedly failed to provide a clear justification for the killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Though Trump and his officials have cited an imminent attack, no evidence has been forthcoming. Over on Fox News, however, the killing justifies itself.

Fox & Friends hosted Dan Bongino on Monday who boldly asserted that Soleimani being alive was enough reason to kill him.

“The President shouldn’t need to legally say it’s a threat,” Fox & Friends host Brian Kilmeade said.

“Soleimani just threatened us three days before, he was behind the attack of our embassy. And who would think that he’s going to give up attacks after that? He lands in Baghdad. The President had every right to take him out. I don’t even know why he brought up imminent threat.”

Bongino naturally agreed.

“Brian, the imminent threat was Soleimani having a pulse,” Bongino said.

“His resumé,” Kilmeade concurred.

Unfortunately, killing a foreign official requires more justification than that offered by Kilmeade and Bongino. Senators from both parties have expressed their unhappiness with the administration’s explanation, and the killing could well have been illegal.
