Fox’s Brian Kilmeade on Trump/Sondland Call: ‘I’ve Never Heard Both Sides of a Phone Call When You Have it to Your Ear’

Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade doubts that anyone could have overheard the phone call between President Donald Trump and EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland. The call is an important part of the ongoing impeachment proceedings, but Kilmeade dismissed it on Wednesday morning.

The revelation about the call first came last week in Ambassador Bill Taylor’s testimony. Taylor claimed that a member of his staff heard Sondland and Trump speaking on the phone in a restaurant in Ukraine. They discussed investigations and were overheard.

The official who heard the phone conversation, David Holmes, has testified behind closed doors that he did hear it. But Kilmeade wasn’t buying it.

“Real quick on the morning session with Sondland, the big thing is that Sondland has not addressed and no-one else has seen and no-one’s really questioned is that when David Holmes came out said I was hanging out in a restaurant having a bottle of wine and I listen over and there’s the EU ambassador talking to what I think’s the President.”

“Amazingly he heard both sides of the phone call,” Kilmeade said. “At which time Sondland said to — to the President that Zelensky loves your blank and that he cares about big things.”

“We have not seen Sondland say that’s true or not true. And I also find it hard to believe that people just accept that you can hear both sides of a phone call 3,000 or 5,000 miles away.”

“I’ve never heard both sides of a phone call when you have it to your ear.”

Kilmeade is essentially claiming Holmes has lied under oath. Other officials reportedly heard the conversation as well.
