Trump Administration Official Behind ‘Resistance’ Op-ed to Publish Tell-All Book

The unidentified senior Trump administration official who penned a New York Times op-ed last year has written a tell-all book to be published next month.

The book, titled “A Warning,” is expected to delve into the issues touched on in the stunning column published September 5, 2018. In “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration,” the president’s leadership style was depicted as “impetuous, adversarial, petty and ineffective,” with the author adding that “his impulsiveness results in half-baked, ill-informed and occasionally reckless decisions that have to be walked back.”

The president subsequently questioned whether the author committed treason, demanding that the Times reveal the person’s identity, which it did not.

“Picking up from where those first words of warning left off, this explosive book offers a shocking, firsthand account of President Trump and his record,” according to a statement about its release. The book will be published November 19 by Twelve, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group.

The author, who will remain anonymous, is represented by Javelin’s Matt Latimer and Keith Urbahn, the same literary agents acquired by James Comey, the former FBI director whom President Trump fired in May 2017, and whose book, A Higher Loyalty, hit the shelves in April 2018.

“The author feels their identity is almost irrelevant,” Latimer said, “because there is scarcely a sentiment expressed in this book that is not shared by numerous others who have served and continue to serve this administration at its highest levels.”

The author wrote the book “as an act of conscience and of duty” rather than for financial gain, Latimer added, noting that a seven-figure advance was declined. Additionally, a “substantial” portion of the royalties will be donated to nonprofit groups dedicated to improving government accountability.
