Trump Accuses Mueller of ‘Illegally’ Deleting Strzok and Page Emails: ‘He Terminated Them!’

During a phone interview on Fox Business Wednesday morning, President Trump — without evidence — accused former Special Counsel Robert Mueller of erasing evidence, claiming the former FBI director deleted messages between former FBI agent Peter Strzok and FBI attorney Lisa Page.

Towards the end of a lengthy, rambling, and grievance-filled phone call with pro-Trump Fox Business host Maria Bartiromo, the president railed against the Russia investigation while heaping praise on Attorney General William Barr, who he said is a “very fair person” who will find out that the FBI “spied on my campaign.”

Trump then pivoted to Strzok and Page, who have become the key players in Trumpworld’s Deep State conspiracy due to the thousands of personal text messages they exchanged before and after the 2016 presidential election that were highly critical of Trump. After Mueller was made aware of the messages, he removed Strzok — who was having an extramarital affair with Page — from the special counsel probe.

“Well, Lisa Page and Peter Strzok wrote everything down, so we have all the texts,” Bartiromo said after the president complained about the “two lovebirds” taking out an “insurance policy” to get him out of office.

“Wait till you see the rest of them — there’s more,” Trump exclaimed. “Robert Mueller, they worked for him, and the two lovers were together and they had texts back-and-forth and emails back-and-forth.”

Bartiromo, meanwhile, seemed a bit confused as to what the president was getting at, asking him why we haven’t seen these other messages.

“You know why? Robert Mueller terminated them illegally,” the president shouted. “He terminated all the emails. He terminated all the stuff between Strzok and Page, some you have never seen. Robert Mueller terminated their text messages, together, he would — he terminated them. They’re gone. And that’s illegal. He — that is a crime.”

The Fox host wanted to know why this hadn’t been discussed in the courts, prompting Trump to essentially shrug and to say the Republicans know that this is “one of the most egregious things” anyone can imagine before moving onto his Rasmussen poll numbers.

So where did the president suddenly get this wild claim — something we haven’t heard him utter before? It would come as no shock to learn that it was from his favorite primetime cable news program — Fox News’ Hannity.

Speaking to Trump attorney Jay Sekulow about Mueller’s upcoming House testimony, host Sean Hannity asked Sekulow about Strzok’s phone and went down this rabbit hole:

“By the way, Jay, let me interrupt. Remember, remember — Strzok and Page’s phones to the manufacturer. How did Peter Strzok’s phone, when it was turned into the special counsel’s office, get wiped out, nobody kept a record of what was on it? How is that even possible?”
