Trump Campaign Account Mocked for Incredible Self Own Over Trump’s ‘Nasty’ Meghan Markle Remarks

A verified Trump 2020 campaign Twitter account committed a self-own for the ages when it claimed media outlets were pushing “Fake News” by correctly reporting that the president called the Duchess of Sussex “nasty” over comments she made during the 2016 presidential election, resulting in widespread mockery on Saturday.

During an interview with London newspaper The Sun ahead of next week’s visit to Great Britain, the president said he was unaware that Meghan Markle had harshly criticized him prior to the election and said she would possibly move out of the United States if Trump were to beat Hillary Clinton. (This preceded her marriage to Prince Harry.)

“There are a lot of people moving [to the United States]. So what can I say? No, I didn’t know that she was nasty,” Trump said before saying that he thinks “it’s nice” that the United Kingdon has an American princess.

Considering Trump’s use of “nasty” to describe a member of British royalty harkened back to his infamous insult of Clinton during the election, the president’s remarks were widely reported, including by the network the president loves to attack. This prompted the Official Trump War Room account to push back against the reports by tweeting out a video and transcript showing…the president calling Markle “nasty.”

Twitter wasted no time dragging the official Trump account, which claims it fights “#FakeNews” and “punched back 10 times harder, for its piss-poor attempt at gaslighting.

Trump, meanwhile, apparently won’t be meeting Markle during his trip next week. According to the Sun, the official reason is the ducchess is currently on maternity leave, though it is rumored they are being kept apart to avoid a confrontation.
