MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell Beats Fox’s Ingraham Across the Board in Friday’s Ratings

MSNBC pulled off a number of ratings win on Friday, leading across the board during primetime and boasting the most-watched program of the day in The Rachel Maddow Show. The network also saw its 10 PM show, The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, dominate its timeslot, easily besting Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle.

According to Nielsen, MSNBC averaged 2.434 million total viewers and 418,000 in the key 25-54 demographic during the 8 PM to 11 PM primetime hours. Fox News pulled in a total audience of 2.297 million and 347,000 in the demo. CNN attracted 302,000 demo viewers and 1.159 million viewers overall.

In the 9 AM to 5 PM daytime slot, Fox won in both the demo (222,000) and total viewership (1.420 million). CNN nabbed a demo audience of 198,000 and 778,000 total viewers. MSNBC captured 1.223 million viewers overall and 185,000 in the demographic.

During the 10 PM hour, The Last Word delivered a total viewership of 2.399 million and 409,000 in the key demo. Ingraham drew 314,000 demo viewers and a total audience of 1.973 million. Cuomo Prime Time averaged 1.033 million total viewers and 275,000 in the demo.

Maddow finished first in both the key demographic (523,000) and total viewers (2.945 million). Fox’s Tucker Carlson Tonight took third place in the 25-54 metric (401,000) and second in total audience (2.531 million). Fox’s The Five was third in total viewers with 2.519 million.

The top-rated program on CNN was Anderson Cooper 360, which drew 1.227 million viewers overall and 330,000 in the key demo.
