Fox & Friends’ Brian Kilmeade Advocates For Fox News Contributor To Be New Trump Chief Of Staff

Over the weekend, President Donald Trump announced that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly would leave his post by the end of the year. Trump’s reported top choice to replace Kelly, Vice President Chief of Staff Nick Ayers, immediately took his name out of the running, forcing the president to consider other candidates for the position.

Considering how closely aligned the Trump White House is with Fox News, one of the president’s favorite Fox programs tossed out an option for him — pick another Fox News personality!

During Fox & Friends discussion on the job search this morning, co-host Brian Kilmeade floated the idea of the president hiring Fox News contributor and former Trump campaign staffer David Bossie as his new chief of staff.

“I think David Bossie, not on that list, would be perfect,” Kilmeade excitedly declared. “I think he understands politics, understands the president. He understands investigations because he was on the offensive side against Hillary Clinton with great success.”

He continued, “He also understands how the president got to be president because he was there from day one.”

Kilmeade also said that Acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker, another one-time conservative TV pundit, could be another good possible candidate for the job.

The Trump administration has been filled out by a number of Fox News employees and personalities. Former Fox News co-president Bill Shine was recently brought on to head up the White House’s communications shop. Longtime Fox News contributor John Bolton is currently the president’s national security adviser. Former Fox & Friends newsreader Heather Nauert is Trump’s choice to become the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. Meanwhile, former White House communications director Hope Hicks is now heading up Fox’s PR division and ex-presidential assistant Seb Gorka is a Fox News national security analyst.

In recent weeks, Bossie and ex-Trump campaign manager have been making the media rounds promoting their latest pro-Trump book, Trump’s Enemies. Prior to that, Bossie got himself in trouble with Fox brass after he got into an on-air spat with a black guest and told him he was out of his “cotton-picking mind,” resulting in a two-week suspension.
