CNN Claps Back At Don Jr: We’re Not Running Your Dad’s Campaign Ad Because It’s Racist

Like troll, like son.

Days ahead and Election Day, presidential large adult son Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter to complain that CNN wasn’t running an overtly racist and xenophobic campaign ad put together by his dad’s 2020 campaign.

Sharing the video that has resulted in widespread outrage and even some Republican condemnation, Donnie Jr. wrote that “CNN refused to run this ad” and that “they only run fake news and won’t talk about real threats that don’t suit their agenda.”

In response to the 40-year-old’s Twitter attack, the network’s PR shop responded in kind, noting that they’ve covered the racist nature of the ad and made a decision not to take the Trump’s campaign money to run it.

“CNN has made it abundantly clear in its editorial coverage that this ad is racist,” the tweet read. “When presented with an opportunity to be paid to take a version of this ad, we declined. Those are the facts.”

In an exasperating interview with Trump campaign advisor Katrina Pierson last night, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper attempted to get Pierson to acknowledge both the racist nature and false claims made in the ad the president shared on his Twitter feed. As one would expect, Cooper got nowhere as the segment ended with Pierson complaining about, you guessed it, “fake news.”
