Trump Points To Reporter And Says ‘You’re Creating Violence By Your Questions’

As the president ramps up his racist fearmongering over a migrant caravan a thousand miles from America’s southern border in an effort to turn out scared white Republican voters ahead of Tuesday’s elections, he insists his rhetoric isn’t inspiring others to commit violence.

Instead, the president feels it is the media that is the one present a threat of violence.

Taking questions from the press on the White House lawn this afternoon, one reporter apparently asked Trump about his rhetoric, leading the president to turn it around on the journalist.

“No, no, you know what, you’re creating violence by your questions,” the president yelled while pointing his finger at the reporter. “You are creating — you. And also a lot of the reporters are creating violence by not writing the truth.”

He continued, “The fake news is creating violence. And you know what? The people that support Trump and the people that support us, which is a lot of people, most people, many people, those people know when a story is true and they know when a story is false. And I’ll tell you what, if the media would write correctly and write accurately and write fairly, you’d have a lot less violence in the country.”

Reminder: It was a week ago when Cesar Sayoc, an unhinged Trump superfan, was arrested for mailing over a dozen bombs to high-profile Democrats and CNN — all prominent Trump critics and targets of the president’s ire. It’s also been less than a week since a raging anti-Semite killed 11 Jews in a Pittsburgh synagogue after ranting about the migrant caravan online.

UPDATE: The reporter Trump pointed to is ABC News White House correspondent Karen Travers, who tweeted the following about the exchange:
