Trump Lies About $1 Million Pledge To Elizabeth Warren For DNA Test: ‘I Didn’t Say That’

Following Senator Elizabeth Warren’s release of a DNA exam showing likely Native American heritage and a short video detailing her family history, President Donald Trump told reporters that he never said that he’d offer the potential 2020 Democratic presidential candidate a million dollars to take a DNA test that shows she’s “an Indian.”

Appearing on the White House South Lawn this morning ahead of a trip to Florida and Georgia to assess hurricane damage, the president was asked about the Warren news and whether he’d honor his million-dollar promise.

“I didn’t say that,” the president denied. “Nope, you better read it again.”

Trump would later go on to declare that he hopes Warren — who he has regularly trolled by using the “Pocahontas” slur — is running for president because “she would be very easy” to defeat before claiming she’d make America a socialist hellscape if she were to win.

“I do not think she would be difficult at all,” Trump boasted. “She’ll destroy the country. She’ll make our country into Venezuela. With that being said I don’t want to say bad things about her because I would hope that she would be one of the people who would get through the process.”

At a July MAGA rally, Trump told the crowd that if he were “debating Pocahontas,” he’d toss her a DNA kit on stage and “do it gently because we’re in the ‘Me Too’ generation.”

“And we will say, ‘I will give you a million dollars, paid for by Trump, to your favorite charity if you take the test and it shows you’re an Indian,'” Trump exclaimed at the time. “And we’ll see what she does. I have a feeling she will say no but we will hold it for the debates.”

  1. Given his track record, I think everyone would’ve been surprised if Trump had honored his word on this. Telling the truth and keeping his word are simply not Trumps strong points.
