CNN’s S.E. Cupp: Kanye’s ‘Clearly Not Okay’ and Trump Is ‘Willing To Exploit That’

Following rap superstar Kanye West’s wild and incoherent Oval Office meeting with President Donald Trump that even left POTUS speechless, CNN political commentator S.E. Cupp expressed concern for West’s mental well-being as the hip-hop artist pointed out that he’d been diagnosed with bipolar disorder but wasn’t taking his meds.

After host Dana Bash noted that West told Trump he’s “on a hero’s journey” and he probably “never thought he’d have a crazy motherfucker like me,” Cupp replied that “all jokes aside” that she thought it “was really sad.”

“I think you had there a man who’s clearly not okay and a president who’s willing to exploit that,” the Unfiltered host said. “And worse, to exploit that under the auspices of race relations and black communities, joblessness, mental health, all the things that ended up in this bucket of issues that were sort of addressed in this free for all.”

She went on to state that she was unsure either Trump or West were “well-served by this circus” before saying the two of them were essentially the same person.

“They are both very ego driven and desperate for attention,” Cupp declared. “So they give it to one another. They are using each other for that end goal.”

The conservative commentator ended her thoughts on the nutso moment with the following:

“I don’t have a problem with Kanye West being a fan of the president. I don’t have a problem with the president using celebrities to expose important issues. But the problem is I don’t think any of that happened today because today was bonkers. It was crazy. It was off the rails. How could anything be accomplished in that kind of environment with that little seriousness paid to those very important issues?”

Recently, CNN political commentator Tara Setmayer has taken heat — largely from the right — for calling West a “token Negro” and stating that he shouldn’t be taken seriously because he clearly has mental issues.
