Trump Attacks Kavanaugh Accuser At United Nations: ‘She Was Totally Inebriated…All Messed Up’

Following his United Nations speech in which the general assembly laughed at him for boasting about his successes, President Donald Trump lobbed attacks at the second accuser of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

Speaking to reporters, the president was asked about the latest accusations from Deborah Ramirez that Kavanaugh drunkenly exposed his penis to her while they were classmates at Yale in the early ’80s. The president not only defended his nominee but took numerous shots at Ramirez.

“A new charge comes up and she said well it might not be him,” Trump sneered. “And there were gaps and said she was totally inebriated, and she was all messed up.”

He continued, “And she doesn’t know if it was him, but it might’ve been him. Oh, gee, let’s not make him a Supreme Court judge because of that. This is a con game being played by the Democrats!”

The president went on to say that the “second accuser has nothing,” adding that she “doesn’t even know” if it was Kavanaugh because “she was drunk.”

“She admits time lapses, there were time lapses,” he stated. “This is a person — and this is a series of statements that’s going to take one of the most talented, one of the greatest intellects from a judicial standpoint in our country — going to keep him off the United States Supreme Court.”

Trump’s comments on Ramirez are in keeping with how Republicans have reacted to the latest allegations made against Kavanaugh. Following the bombshell New Yorker story detailing Ramirez’s account of the alleged incident, Republicans on the Hill have dug in and labeled this part of a “smear campaign” by Democrats to take down Kavanaugh. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has promised Kavanaugh will get an up and down vote following Thursday’s hearing that will feature the judge’s first accuser, Christine Blasey Ford.
