Republican Official Called Kneeling NFL Players ‘Baboons’ And ‘Over Paid Ignorant Blacks’

Will be interesting to see how this GOP official will claim she wasn’t being racist.

According to the Beaver County Times, Republican Committee of Beaver County secretary Carla Maloney tossed out a series of extremely offensive and bigoted comments on her personal Facebook page last year regarding kneeling black NFL players in which she referred to the athletes as “baboons” and “ignorant blacks.”

The posts were made following the September 24th game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Chicago Bears that featured the majority of the Steelers team remaining in the locker room during the playing of the national anthem. The NFL saw widespread demonstrations that week after President Donald Trump lashed out at players who knelt during the anthem to protest racial injustice and police brutality, calling them sons of bitches.

“Tired of these over paid ignorant blacks telling me what I should believe in. I will tell you what I believe in and that is our Flag the National Anthem and America period end of story,” Maloney wrote on her page under the name Carla Belish Fuller. “You don’t like it here go to Africa see how you like it there. We are all Americans not African American not Hispanic American. WE ARE ALL AMERICAN.”

According to the Times, the Facebook page no longer exists but the chairman of the RCBC confirmed the posts were Maloney’s, stating that she made them prior to being named secretary.

Later on in the comments thread with her friends, Maloney really amped up the racism, repeatedly comparing the players to primates while warning of a looming civil war.

“Steelers are now just as bad as the rest of the over paid baboons,” Maloney declared. “You respect your flag, country and our national anthem. How many men and women have lost limbs or died to protect this country and you baboons want respect. If you want respect you need to earn it and so far you haven’t. Stop watching, or going to a game and paying for over priced food, water and tickets. Let’s see how the baboons get paid when white people stop paying their salaries.”

Interestingly, Maloney appeared on CNN’s The Van Jones Show earlier this summer in an episode in which host Van Jones traveled to Pennsylvania to talk to Trump supporters and critics. Identifying as a Trump voter — but not as a GOP official — Maloney expressed her concerns about “the black community that has one father or one mother” during a discussion on immigration.

Maloney has been advised by the RCBC chairman not to comment on this issue right now as he said the committee will convene Saturday morning to discuss it.
