President Trump Threatens ‘Extraordinarily Low IQ’ Maxine Waters: ‘Be Careful What You Wish For’

With cable news punditry and mainstream media column space now fully devoted to arguing that both sides need to work harder to bring civility back to the current political discourse, the leader of the free world targeted and threatened a sitting lawmaker.

Over the weekend, Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) — passionately anti-Trump and a vocal leader of the #Resistance — endorsed the recent public harassment and embarrassment directed at Trump administration officials and allies, encouraging people to engage in more of these actions.

“For these members of his Cabinet who remain and try to defend him,” she exclaimed. “They are not going to be able to go to a restaurant, they are not going to be able to stop at a gas station, they are not going to be able to shop in a department store. The people are going to turn on them, they are gonna protest, they are gonna absolutely harass them!”

This has led to a widespread and bipartisan condemnation of Waters and quite a bit of hemming and hawing from talking heads on cable news. In the midst of this pushback on incivility from the left, the president sent this tweet out:

Yep, you read that right. Not only did he toss out a racist dog whistle by calling a black woman an “extraordinarily low IQ person” — an attack line he’s used on her in the past — he directed his supporters to take aim at the Democratic lawmaker.

“She has just called for harm to supporters,” he wrote, though Waters just called for public harassment, “of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!”

But, yeah, both sides or whatever.
