Roland Martin: Trump Calling For Sam Bee To Be Fired Is Irrelevant As He’s Not Apologized For ‘Vile Things’ He’s Said

In the wake of the controversy over comedian Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump a “feckless cunt” during her show’s monologue, President Donald Trump weighed in on Twitter. Following White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders suggesting that Bee’s show should be canceled, the president whined there was a “double standard” while wondering why Bee hasn’t been fired yet.

During a Sunday MSNBC appearance, News One host and managing editor Roland Martin dismissed the president’s calls for Bee to be fired by noting that Trump has reportedly tossed the c-word at female reporters and hasn’t apologized for the many “vile things” he’s said.

After pointing out that there’s a “huge difference” between Roseanne Barr’s racist tweets and Bee’s comments, noting that Bee framed her remarks within satirical comedy, Martin was then asked by MSNBC anchor Alex Witt if he felt there was a double standard at play.

“It’s very simple, Donald Trump,” Martin explained. “Did you order people to be thrown out of your rallies that had shirts with the same word attacking Hillary Clinton in your rallies? There are female journalists on record saying that Donald Trump called them that exact same word.”

Martin went on to point out that White House aide Kelly Sadler still hasn’t publicly apologized for her tasteless John McCain joke despite telling Meghan McCain she would and Trump has never said he was sorry to Barack Obama for spreading the racist birther conspiracy.

“Donald Trump has no room to demand an apology from anybody considering he has not apologized for the vile things he’s said about women and other folks as well,” Martin declared. “So, his tweet is absolutely irrelevant. Go sit down, you should apologize, Donald Trump, for things you have said that are despicable and not words that the President of the United States should be using.”
