NBC’s Report Finding ‘No Evidence’ Management Knew Of Matt Lauer’s Behavior Met With Skepticism

On Wednesday morning, NBC released the findings of its investigation into former TODAY host Matt Lauer’s reported workplace sexual harassment and misconduct. While Lauer was fired late last year following complaints and reports that he had acted in an inappropriate manner with multiple women, the report stated that the network had found “no evidence indicating that any NBC News or Today Show leadership, News HR or others in positions of authority in the News Division received any complaints about Lauer’s workplace behavior prior to November 27, 2017.”

Among other things, this conflicts with what ex-TODAY anchor Ann Curry had told the Washington Post earlier this year. Curry noted that she had been approached by a woman in 2012 who said she was sexually harassed by Lauer. Curry stated she informed management that they needed to keep an eye on Lauer.

After the release of the report, several media figures sounded off on Twitter, expressing skepticism over the report and its findings.
