Donald Trump’s Inauguration Speech Will Be A ‘Philosophical’ Vision Of What America Means

President-elect Donald Trump’s inaugural address will be a ‘philosophical document’ that will lay out Trump’s idea of what it means to be an American, according to his spokesman Sean Spicer. Reports indicate that Trump is writing the speech himself.

Trump believes millions will tune in to listen to his first speech as president, which will air tomorrow immediately after his swearing in at the Capitol. The president-elect has claimed have “an unbelievable, perhaps record-setting turnout.”

Protest marches are planned for Washington, DC and across the nation against Trump and his attitude towards women and racial minorities. The Women’s March on Washington could see more people turn out than the crowd at Trump’s inauguration. Fifty Democrats are boycotting the event.

Trump’s incoming press secretary Sean Spicer told assembled reporters today that Trump’s speech would be short on details but might lay out a vision of what Trump thinks America should be about. Spicer said it would be “less of an agenda and more of a philosophical document.”

Several inaugural addresses are considered some of the best speeches of all time. John F. Kennedy’s 1961 inaugural speech is famous for its line “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” Trump is not known for eloquence outside of 140 characters and what exactly his ‘philosophical’ vision of America is remains to be seen.
